10 Steps to Install an August Smart Lock

1. Preparing the Existing Deadbolt

3. Work on the Mounting Plate
In the package, there’s a mounting plate with two adjustable screw-holes. If necessary, you can reposition them. Now, remove these screws and insert them on the front side of your mounting plate. In case there’s a gap between the mounting plate as a result of a large borehole, the cover plate has to be fixed behind the mounting plate.
4. Fix the Mounting Plate
